ISSA

The Rothamsted Research International Scientists and Staff Association:

  • Supports all overseas workers throughout their time at Rothamsted and promotes their integration into the RRes community
  • Produces a 'Welcome Pack' containing information on living in the UK to help visiting workers from overseas acclimatise and familiarise
  • Encourages greater social interaction and cultural exchange between resident and visiting scientists

ISSA works closely with Rothamsted International (RI) to extend the functions of RI to all overseas visitors including short-term visiting workers, students and their families.

ISSA was originally set up in September 1992 by a group of staff members with the aim of welcoming visiting scientists, students and their families to Rothamsted and to provide information and social activities to help make their stay as enjoyable as possible.
