VSNi & Genstat Discovery |

The GenStat Discovery Edition is a free version of GenStat developed by VSN International for use by not-for-profit research organisations, charities and educational institutes based in the developing world. The first edition was released in October 2003 and distributed throughout Africa by the World Agroforestry Centre in Nairobi. Based on its success, VSNi has released an updated version - this was launched at the University of Nairobi in Kenya and Makerere University in Uganda in November 2007. |

This free data analysis software is available to non-commercial organisations throughout the developing world. The launch was in conjunction with RUFORUM, the Regional Universites Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture. The new version includes features such as menus for analysis of circular data for climatology research - vital in empowering African countries to combat the negative effects of climate change. |

VSNi gave a training course to current RI Fellows on Genstat Discovery Edition 3 at Rothamsted in March 2008. They also received a free copy of the software to take back to their home organisations |
